These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Shrewd (the "Service"), operated by Shrewd AI. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service

Shrewd is an AI-powered personal finance assistant that helps you understand your money by connecting to your financial accounts and answering questions about them.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

Financial data and Plaid

When you connect a financial institution, you authorize us and our data provider Plaid to access and retrieve your financial information on your behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy and Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. You can disconnect an institution or delete your account at any time.

SMS Terms

When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in, you consent to receive one-time verification (authentication) codes from Shrewd by SMS, and any account notifications you choose to enable. Message frequency varies — for verification, one message is sent per sign-in or recovery request. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Your mobile information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, and we do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Not financial advice

The Service provides informational insights only and is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on information from the Service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• access another person's account or data without authorization;
• interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shrewd AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
